PNGUM donates K1 million to Trans Pacific for Christ

August 12

The Papua New Guinea Union Mission (PNGUM) has donated K1 million to the Trans Pacific Union Mission (TPUM) in support of the Trans Pacific for Christ evangelistic initiative.

PNGUM president Pastor Danny Philip presented the gift this morning, saying it was a personal blessing to be part of Trans Pacific for Christ, particularly through his involvement in Fiji for Christ. Pastor Philip will be preaching at the Namaka evangelistic site during the two-week campaign. PNGUM is sending 28 preachers to serve at evangelistic sites across Fiji.

Pastor Philip said the contribution reflects PNGUM’s commitment to the great commission given by Jesus in Matthew 28:19: “Go and make disciples of all nations.”

He highlighted the unique mission field of the Pacific, where communities are spread across thousands of islands and often separated by great distances.

“Our islands may be isolated and scattered across the vast Pacific, but we are not forgotten in the great commission,” Pastor Philip said. “We are the ends of the earth.”

The K1 million contribution reflects PNGUM’s partnership with TPUM in sharing the gospel and advancing the mission of the Church across the Pacific.

TPUM and Fiji Mission leaders expressed their appreciation to PNGUM for the significant gift and its ongoing support of mission across the region.—Fiji Mission of Seventh-day Adventists
